On Sunday June 23 at 11 am, Chief Robert Joseph, OC, OBC, will be the guest speaker at Unity of New Westminster.
Chief Robert Joseph is a hereditary Chief of the Gwawaenuk people. He is the Ambassador for Reconciliation Canada, and chair of the Native American Leadership Alliance for Peace and Reconciliation.
Chief Joseph is a former member of the National Assembly of First Nations Elders Council. He was formerly the Executive Director of the Indian Residential School Survivors Society and is an honourary witness to Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
Chief Robert Joseph is nationally and internationally recognized as a leading voice of reconciliation.
He is the author of the award-winning book "Namwayut - a Pathway to Reconciliation."
“Namwayut” means "We are all one."
Chief Joseph believes that reconciliation belongs to everyone.
All are invited to take advantage of this important opportunity to educate ourselves and, with listening and presence, participate in the process of reconciliation.
With his message, Chief Joseph reminds us that every person matters. We are, indeed, all one, all interconnected.
A smudging ceremony and dedication of the medicine wheel garden will follow Chief Joseph’s presentation.
