DESCRIPTION:At 11 a.m. on November 11\, 1918\, an armistice brought the fig
hting of the First World War to a halt. The loss and suffering were so gre
at that people hoped it would be “the war to end all wars.”\nOn Rememb
rance Day\, we honour those who served and those who lost their lives. We
give thanks for the sacrifices made by military personnel and their famili
es\, and remember all whose lives have been changed by war.\nWe also refle
ct on our own responsibility to build peace\, care for one another\, and f
ind the courage to stand up against cruelty and injustice.\nJoin us on Sun
day Nov 8 for our annual Remembrance Day service as we remember\, give tha
nks\, and renew our commitment to peace.
